Hi Friends from Bangkok, Any one of you got lobang to purchase SIM card without, using passport? Thanks in advance

Those pre-paid cards doesn't need passport. Find them at MBK shop/stall... a lot of number to choose from.

If I am not wrong,u need to register a Thai Pre-paid SIM card with your Passport. They will also take a photo of u with their handphone.

Oh... maybe they change liao. 3 years ago needed sim card for gps system and bought 15 pcs in MBK... don't remember they asking for anything.

my last trip to thailand in 2019, i got my data sim at changi airport. no passport needed. pay and f off. :D

After the bombing incident at Erawan Shrine (Four-Faced Buddha),the authorities implemented the registration of new pre-paid sim card and taking of photo for tracking of terrorists or criminals.:D

There are still sim cards available without registration. I just bought 2 of them. TRUE. 3500 baht unlimited data for 1 year. Can find alot of them online. Those in BKK can go to Huai Khwang at night and buy at the pushcarts.

If you get it online, no need passport.
But if you get it in AIS shop, you need passport.

If you go AIS shop.. u need passport to register.
